The crucial activity of the Institute of Intelligence Studies is applied research in strategic military intelligence, primarily in line with the requirements and needs of the Military Intelligence and Cyber Forces Command of the Czech Armed Forces, particularly focused on developing:

• essential intelligence disciplines (human intelligence, signal intelligence,  imagery intelligene and open sources intelligence);
• information analysis tools;
• structured analysis methods and techniques;
• simulation and modelling in intelligence;
• intelligence forecasting, monitoring and assessing the political-military, military strategic and security development in regions, and selected topics of intelligence interest.
